MUSAC1 Course DescriptionTeacher in Charge: Ms M. Brownlie.
This is a full year course and must be selected for both semesters.
Music Academy is for students who have a passion for Music and are wanting to explore Music in-depth. This course will cover Composition (writing original music), Performance (learning an instrument and building confidence), Music History and Analysis. This course is highly recommended if students are intending on doing Music at NCEA Level One.
Learning an instrument (voice is classed as an instrument) through the instrumental/vocal tutors programme is compulsory. Lessons are free of charge.
The big question: Should music be used as a form of expression and how can this be done?

This can be linked to NCEA Level One Music. It is recommended that two different junior Music courses are taken over year 9 and 10 in preparation for NCEA Level One Music. Alternatively, students can take the full year Music Academy course.
