WORKX101

Level 1 Workplace Essentials

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Love.

PURPOSE: This is a course which has been developed so that students can learn how to use computer applications for personal and school use. It will give students the skills they need for further study or senior Digital Workx courses.

COURSE OUTLINE: This course will teach you the basics of computing using applications such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel. It provides a practical opportunity for students who wish to learn such skills that are essential to transition into employment or further studies at tertiary level. These practical skills provide foundational knowledge that students can use to build up a Digital Capability portfolio. Students will have the opportunity to focus their learning goals towards either workplace employment or to enhance learning across their other school subjects. Our focus is on developing accurate text entry, learning how to enhance and create electronic and printed documents, and consolidating skills using a range of applications.
