Level 2 Celebrating Culture Through Food Technology
Course Description
COURSE OUTLINE:
Celebrations are important in our society and culture because they bring family and friends together. In term 1 and 2 you will follow the design process to design a celebratory food outcome for a special occasion that solves an issue, meets the requirements of the stakeholders and is fit for purpose. In the third term we will also be learning advanced procedures to produce a lemon meringue pie that meets the specifications and in term 4 we will be learning the techniques to make jam.
This course expands on the skills learned in Year 11 Food Technology.
The HOS wing will be under renovation from December 2023 till July 2024. As such the cooking room will not be available. Students will concentrate on theory work for terms 1 and 2 and have limited practical lessons in term 3.
Recommended Prior Learning
Year 11 Food Technology or any other Technology will be an added advantage. Students who have not completed a Technology may be eligible to join at the discretion of the HoD or teacher in charge.
