Level 2 Digital Technologies
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs R. Leota.
PURPOSE: In doing this course, the students take on the role of a Technologist. They follow the Technology Process to research and develop solutions to meet the brief and specifications. This course focuses on product design and development. The students will further develop their problem solving skills by using technologies to answer their own questions. They will develop workplace inter-personal skills by working with a client and stakeholders to create a conceptual design, prototype and one-off digital solution.
COURSE OUTLINE: This course involves the students expanding upon their skills gained in earlier Digital Technologies courses and exploring their interests through a year-long project. In this project the students will determine their own client and create a product to meet an identified need within a context. This is where students will get an opportunity to explore paths they are interested in and undertake self-directed learning. This project is broken up into sections as it is made up of three different Achievement Standards, worth a total of 16 credits.
