Level 1 Design
Course Description
In doing this course, students take on the role of a Designer. They follow the Design Process to research and develop solutions to meet the brief and specs.This course will involve the students expanding on their skills gained in Junior Design and exploring their interest in architecture and product design.
This course involves two major projects and an external.
Students will design new and innovative products, learn about influential designers and complete an architecture-based project. This course is aimed at passionate and motivated students, equipping them with resourcefulness and self-management skills which they will be able to draw upon for the rest of their life, whether in a job, at university or in starting their own business.
Recommended Prior Learning
Junior Digi or Design courses are strongly recommended. Students who have not completed any may be considered at the discretion of the Head of Department, Digi and Design Tech. Those who have no prior experience may struggle and will need to put in extra time and effort outside of the class time.
