DIGIW101

Level 1 Digital Technologies (Web & Programming)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Love.

In doing this course, students take on the role of a Technologist. They follow the Technological Process to research and develop solutions to meet the brief and specs. This course will involve the students expanding on their skills gained in Junior Digi  and exploring their interest in Web Development and Programming.

This course involves two major projects and an external. In project #1 students will use HTML and CSS to develop a website. In project #2 students will plan and develop a program for a basic quiz game. In the External they will demonstrate their understanding of human computer interactions.

The students will further develop their problem skills by using Technologies to answer their own questions. They will develop workplace interpersonal skills by working with stakeholders to create conceptual designs, prototypes and one-off digital solutions.

Like it or not…ready or not, the world is going digital. Between websites that have to be designed and computer programs controlling more and more, even with “smart homes”, there is no way future generations are not going to be more reliant on the two core digital skills such as web design and programming.

So what are you waiting for?

Recommended Prior Learning
