MUSOKC

OK Computer (2)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms M. Brownlie.

This is a semester long course that is set to run in Semester Two.

In OK Computer you will create your own music (composition) using music technology (MIDI keyboards, DAWs and music specific software).

  • Learning an instrument (voice is classed as an instrument) through the instrumental/vocal tutors programme is recommended. Lessons are free of charge.

  • If students intend on taking NCEA Level One Music, it is recommended they complete at least one other Music course. Alternatively, students can take the full year Music Academy course.

The big question: Should music be used as a form of expression and how can this be done?

Pathway

This can be linked to NCEA Level One Music. It is recommended that two different junior Music courses are taken over year 9 and 10 in preparation for NCEA Level One Music. Alternatively, students can take the full year Music Academy course.
