This is a semester long course and will be offered in semester 2. 

The big question: How can I use art to stand up for my beliefs?

This course explores social issues and  art with a message. Students will develop skills in lettering, painting techniques – stenciling, spray art, silkscreen printing, Photoshop manipulations, printmaking and poster making.

Students’ will develop practical art skills, problem-solving skills, lateral thinking, self-motivation and creative thinking. Students will investigate art from a range of cultural origins and develop ideas in order to produce personal and original artworks. Students are encouraged to explore their creativity and develop a strong work ethic as well as develop an awareness or their own and others cultural and values.

Students may study Art for one semester or two semesters. We recommend a full year course for those interested in the Senior Art Pathway.
